Week 2: PIZZA WEEK!
Welcome to Week 2 of the Baking/Cooking Summer Enrichment Program! Below, you will find all of the recipes for the week. Monday (Sauce), Tuesday (English Muffin Personal Pizzas), Wednesday (Pizza Rolls), and Thursday (Garlic Knots).
In order to earn 10 points, you must complete all four recipes. Earn 8 points for three recipes, 5 points for two recipes, and 3 points for one recipe. In order to earn points so I know you completed the recipe, post a DESCRIPTION in Google Classroom explaining how your creation came out!

SAUCE
Ingredients
1 Tablespoon butter
1 can crushed tomato
1/2 onion
1/2 red pepper
1 garlic clove

DISCLAIMER: YOU ARE USING THE STOVE IN THIS RECIPE! It is important to be extra safe and make sure you turn off the stove when you are done cooking!
1. Turn the stove on medium/low heat and warm a pan on top of it. Put in 1 tablespoon of butter and start melting it.
2. Chop the onion. Once the butter is melted, put in the onion and stir it around for a few minutes.
3. Chop the red pepper and add it to the pan.
4. Mince (chop into small pieces) the garlic and add it to the pan. Make sure the heat isn't too high; otherwise, the garlic will taste bad and burnt!
5. Add your spices (salt, pepper, and any other Italian spices you happen to have!)
6. Pour in the crushed tomato and stir it around. Set the stove to low for about 20 minutes and let it all cook together.
7. TURN OFF THE STOVE, let the sauce cool, and put it in a container to save for the recipes for the rest of the week! YUM!

ENGLISH MUFFIN PERSONAL PIZZAS
Ingredients
Sauce (That you made yesterday!)
2 English Muffins
1/2 Cup Mozzarella Cheese
2 English Muffins
1/2 Cup Mozzarella Cheese

DISCLAIMER: YOU ARE USING THE OVEN FOR THIS RECIPE. YOU MUST BE SAFE AND USE OVEN MITS. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU TURN EVERYTHING OFF WHEN YOU ARE DONE.
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cut both of your English Muffins in half carefully.
3. Spread your homemade sauce from yesterday on it. Add mozzarella cheese. If you have any other fun ingredients at home that you'd like to add on top, go for it! Be creative!
4. Put the English Muffin Personal Pizzas in the oven for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted.
5. Carefully remove from the oven, turn off the oven, let them cool for a few minutes and ENJOY!

PIZZA ROLLS
Ingredients
Pillsbury Crescent Dough pop tube
Sauce (that you already made!)
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese

DISCLAIMER: YOU ARE USING THE OVEN FOR THIS RECIPE. YOU MUST BE SAFE AND USE OVEN MITS. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU TURN EVERYTHING OFF WHEN YOU ARE DONE.
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
2. Pop open the Pillsbury Crescent Dough pop tube and separate them into the triangles. Lay the triangles flat on your surface.
3. Spread spoonfuls of your sauce onto the dough triangles. Add mozzarella cheese. If you have any other fun ingredients at home, now is the time to add them!
4. Roll up the dough and pinch it closed. Place the rolled-up dough onto a cooking sheet.
5. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Remote from cookie sheet. Serve warm with pasta sauce for dipping. Enjoy!

2. Unroll dough; separate into 12 long pieces. Twist and tie each long piece into a “knot-like” ball; place in ungreased baking sheet.
3. Spoon the garlic/butter mixture evenly over the top of each know. Sprinkle the tops with salt and pepper
4. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with a side of sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
